Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom WooCommerce themes and plugins to meet specific client needs.
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and project managers to create seamless e-commerce experiences.
- Optimize WooCommerce sites for speed, performance, and SEO.
- Implement and customize WooCommerce extensions to enhance functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WooCommerce, including payment gateways, checkout processes, and third-party integrations.
- Manage WooCommerce site migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness of WooCommerce sites.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain high-quality code standards.
- Stay updated with the latest WooCommerce and WordPress developments, and implement best practices.
- Work directly with clients to understand their business goals and translate them into technical solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in WooCommerce development and WordPress.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
- Extensive experience with WooCommerce API, hooks, and filters.
- Deep understanding of WooCommerce architecture, including theme and plugin development.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for WooCommerce.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for e-commerce websites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Memberships, or Bookings plugins.
- Familiarity with headless WooCommerce and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with popular page builders like Elementor or WPBakery.
- Knowledge of server management and hosting environments for WooCommerce sites.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
